Up your energy efficiency game

There are a bunch of different energy efficiency projects you can undertake, from simply replacing old lightbulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs all the way to improving your home’s insulation. Smart thermostats are one of the niftier trends to hit the home energy efficiency space in a while. These bad boys allow you to change the temperature from your smart phone and, over time, they learn your preferences and automatically adjust the temperature based on your habits. The jury is still out on whether the gadgets actually save money, so before you shell out the cash, do your research and decide whether one makes sense for you.

Replace your siding

Do you have to paint your siding more often than every 5-6 years? Are you noticing rotting or warping on the exterior of your home? Are you paying unusually high costs for heating and cooling?
